Exploring social media and the fitness world, there is an endless supply of diet and exercise professionals with tips and strategies to “take your body to the next level.” Everywhere I look there are “six-pack shortcuts” and “booty busting tips” all centered on quick results and, my favorite term, ‘hacking’ your body for faster results. There is aggressive competition for our shortened attention spans nowadays often without deeper consideration for what is really going on inside the body. For example, one of the areas that is desperately lacking attention is on the internal environment of your body, specifically, your hormone levels.
After 20 years in wellness, I have learned that all the squat jumps and calorie tracking in the world means little if your internal hormones are not properly balanced and aligned for the changes so many seek. Worse, the modern lifestyle has evolved to a place (and pace) that altogether assaults our internal health to the point where people don’t know where to begin with regards to changing their health. It’s no wonder that people often go from fad to fad, losing motivation with the lack of true results they were promised. On the positive side, people can be amazed to see the results they can finally achieve once their hormones are properly balanced and, specifically, their natural testosterone levels restored.
Over the coming weeks, we will be publishing a blog series dedicated to balancing and optimizing your hormones with a heavy focus on natural testosterone levels for both men and women. As the principal anabolic and sex hormone in humans, testosterone is responsible for sexual desire and function, muscular hypertrophy, densification of bones, and even hair growth. Further, healthy testosterone levels play a critical role throughout every stage of a person’s life. Though testosterone is largely responsible for those traits and characteristics that are considered “masculine” – physical strength, body hair, dominance, and virility – both sexes require it for proper sexual and physical development.
With countless “wellness” clinics popping up in major cities devoted to various synthetic ‘replacement therapies’, our goal is to offer a natural option for men and women to try first before choosing to outsource such a critical component of their health. So, if you want help in balancing your hormones and optimizing your free testosterone, stay tuned for regular tips. It is not uncommon for those self monitoring to see a 100% increase, doubling their testosterone in 60-90 days. Further, I even promise to not use the word “hack” at any time!
